If you thought retirement is for the dogs, guess again. This retired K9 bloodhound named Copper, who worked 9 years for the West Valley City Police Department in Utah helped locate Harold, a lost tortoise, after its owner spent hours searching for this speedster.
Who would have thought that a tortoise can “run” away from its owners? As it appears, this one tortoise has speed!
When we looked up how fast these animals can go, these speedsters have been clocked at 0.3 kilometers per hour!
Unfortunately, Harold the tortoise didn’t break the world record. According to the Guinness World Records, the world’s fastest tortoise still belongs to Bertie from the United Kingdom. He ran at a blazing speed of 0.28 meters per second or 1.008 kilometer per hour.
Nonetheless, this was a happy ending. Copper the K9 bloodhound still has what it takes to solve the mystery of the lost tortoise.
Kudos to Copper!
