Do dogs really enjoy being petted?

Posted by Tom Shannon on

Your blood pressure goes down when petting a dog. And so does the dog’s.

Petting your dog doesn't take a lot of your time. Petting is also one of the most fun and satisfying things for both you and your dog because it feels good and your dog easily pick ups on the energy that conveys a closer and happy relationship with them.

The act of petting a dog results in the release of oxytocin, a hormone that is frequently called as the "love hormone" that give you those warm, fuzzy feelings that were shown to lower stress and anxiety.
