Dalmatians are Born Completely White

The Dalmatian has been a favorite dog breed for centuries for its distinctively dispersed black spots. The Dalmatian's black spots have been regarded as both traditional and inspirational that a famous English author named Dodie Smith, used the Dalmatian breed in her book "The One Hundred One Dalmatians" in 1956. Since Dodie Smith's original book release, the story around the Dalmatians has been remade and featured in Disney movies and captured everyone's imagination and affection for the breed.

The Dalmatian also has been recognized as a mascot for firefighters since the time of the horse-drawn carriages of the 1800s when they're seen running alongside horses. The Dalmatian's affinity to horses makes them a natural fit and loyal companion to their much larger counterpart.

In other parts of the world, the Dalmatian has been known to be a dog of war that would watch over opposing enemy borders. In the field, the Dalmatian has been employed as a draft dog pulling sleds and carriages. Dalmatians have been used by farmers as shepherds to herd and protect flocks from roaming outside. Lastly, Dalmatians have also been called "ratters" and bird dogs to hunt rats and retrieve birds for their hunters.

The Dalmatian's working and sporting legacy make them excellent pets for families who are active, energetic, and enjoy time in the outdoors. That said, if you favor yourself to have the active lifestyle qualities that a Dalmatian dog love and enjoy, Dalmatians are the perfect fit for your needs.
