A great benefit of the Aqueon QuietFlow filters is the internal pump design that helps dampen noise, eliminates leaks and because it is self-priming, starts up automatically after cleaning or power interruptions. Higher flow rates also ensure a higher dissolved oxygen content for healthier, more active fish. There are five total stages of filtration–mechanical, chemical, biological and an additional specialty pad–for the cleanest, clearest, healthiest water. Stage 1 – Dense floss removes particles and debris. Stage 2 – Activated carbon removes toxins, odors and discoloration. Stage 3 – Patented Bio-Holster removes toxic ammonia and nitrites. Stage 4 – Diffuser grid removes additional toxins while adding oxygen for more active fish. It also reduces splashing makes the return exceptionally quiet. Stage 5 – Specialty filter pad option for additional carbon, ammonia reducer or phosphate remover. All filters use Aqueon Replacement Filter Cartridges and Aqueon Specialty Filter Pads.

Good filter for the money

This is a good filter for the money. I am using it in a 10 gallon tank and it does a better job than the original smaller filter that came with it. This will keep it cleaner an more safe for the fish.

Great filter

Product was as described. Put it in my tank, plugged it in and couldn't even tell it was on, other than the water flow. It's been a few weeks now, still can't hear it running. Great filter, would recommend

Zero noise

I love everything about it. There was some minor assembling but other than that, place, plug n go. Perfect replacement for my old QuietFlow (just replaced it bc it was about 5 yrs old. Old one worked perfect, btw, just wanted fishies to have new everything). I have a 10ga tank (two fish, two snails, gravel, plants, etc) And this IS super quiet, just like my last one.

Excellent filter for my 38 gallon tank

This was purchased to replace a malfunctioning filter. It is powerful, quiet, works very well. I use the supplied filter plus some other materials I purchase n bulk, and the tank is always crystal clear. Excellent value for the money, works better than more expensive filter of the same type I have used before.

Perfect fit

Easy to assemble - basically came assembled on delivery. I particularly like the small prefilter in the front. Although the water flow is not adjustable, it's just right for my 10 gallon tank. Very quiet' only hear the water. Following the instructions, I filled the resevoir with water and plugged it in - started right up. I plan to order the same model for my 30 gallon.
