Aqueon Modular LED Aquarium Light Fixture, 24-Inch

This is my second one of these, the first lasted around ten years. Not sure what went or why but it kept flashing. Tried swapping around components and got the same results. I like the fact that I can swap lights out as I see needed. Good product and purchase, this is why I bought another of the same brand and type.

We just purchased this light for our 29 gallon tank, because we like the one on our ten gallon tank so much. We have had the one for our ten gallon tank several years, and have never had to replace the LED bulb. It has worked great.

In researching the one for our 29 gallon, we realized that we could purchase more bulbs for our 10 gallon. These allow up to 3 LED bulbs, so you can have more light for a planted tank if needed. You can also mix different types of bulbs for a different light spectrum in the tank. We plan to get some more bulbs soon.

I have used several different Aquarium lights on my 30 gal tank. The stock one died in 6 months, then I went to 8" black lights cause I was told the look awesome on my GlowFish tank...they did but kept burning out too. Then I bought a 24" blacklight florescent setup that didnt really look that great.

Then I bought this, and WOW! WHAT A DIF! As you can se in my photos the fish POP with color! You can see every inch in my tank! I swear to you, just by adding this with 2 of the blue Aqueon light sticks its like I have a brand new aquarium! I can actually see the details of my decor and I can see EVERY fish clear as day! I havent yet experienced such beauty in my tank before...

And to top it off it has a beautiful low level blue nightlight i set before bed, its amazing to watch my tank now when walking throught to the kitchen in the night. I recommend this to any 30 gal tank owners out there looking for a new light!

Pros:
*Super bright!
*Super easy install
*You can choose from several colors to mix and match what you prefer
*Can just install a new bulb when one dies, not replace the whole unit

Cons:
*Costly bulbs
*Cannot just choose a single bulb or double bulb, its just on/off and night light
*Cannot adjust the brightness

Reading other reviews, some people added extra bulbs to make this fixture brighter. But for our 25 gallon curved front fresh water tank, it puts out plenty of light. Being an LED light, we hope to get better life out of this fixture than we did on the original fixture that came with the tank. It is sure a lot quieter than that noisy beast.

Beautiful light with nice Moonlight feature (blue LEDs). Be aware the manufacturer doesn't seem to place enough packing around the bulb for this item to ship well in its original box. I ordered them twice from different vendors, and in spite of being well packed outside the product box, the bulb came damaged each time. I was able to contact the manufacturer and they promptly sent me a replacement bulb (works great). Hopefully they will pass on the word to QC and get some protection inserted in the original packing process.
