Fourth time purchasing to make a double cage. This is a perfect cage to make shift into a double cage for cheap. I take the 3 shelves and place them in the center and add some zip ties for support. In addition, i zip tie all around cage. Then I purchase an extra tray and lay on top of the 3 shelves i placed parallel to each other in the middle and there you have it a double cage. This is cheaper than buying a double cage for sure. Hope this helps.

The item arrived bent in multiple places and had to use a rubber mallet to bend the pieces back to even assemble the cage. Once together to make sure it stayed together we used black zipties to keep it together since it came apart multiple times during assembly. The perches that came with the cage were very hard to attach,but once attached were sturdy enough for our almost 20 lbs cat.

Would we buy this item again no. But it does what we needed it to do which was to keep our large kitten confined while he healed after his surgery.

Would we recommend this cat playpen no.

So, I live in a condo and my cat is a bird watcher and loves to sit in the window for hours. I got this for her to enjoy the patio, but safely. First of all, it was a pain in the neck to put together, but mostly because the panels had stuck together with the brackets. I literally had to pry them apart to separate the panels. Took me awhile to figure out what was happening and why I couldn't open it like the instructions said. After I finally figured it out, I used a long flat head screw driver to do some prying. This was also helpful in fastening the trays the cat can jump or lay on to the frame. I had to use the screw driver to pry the hooks onto the frame. That made it much easier. I also secured it in a few places with some zip ties for extra security. But overall seems pretty sturdy and secure.

You can do it alone, as I have proven, even though they suggest 2 people put it together. And for the record, I'm not a handy person who is any good at putting stuff together, so if I can do it, anyone can! But you'll need some patience. And a flathead screw driver for prying.

She immediately took to laying on them and I felt it's so much better than just hard plastic.
