Aqueon Fish Tank Clip-On LED Lights 2 Way Control Black 8" x 7" x 4.75"

Bought this for a 20 gallon aquarium and it seemed great ( April 2021)
One thing I noticed was at night when I turned it off it was VERY warm , actually hot.
So I normally leave my other Aquarium lights on 12 hours .
I do a 12 hr on 12 hr off routine.
This light I found seemed to get to hot !
So I was only using it 7-8 hrs at a time .
So a couple of days ago around 5pm I smelled plastic burning and I saw this light smoking like crazy !
I immediately unplugged it and took it off my aquarium, it was so HOT I couldn’t believe it !
I do not recommend this product!

After my light which is connected to the hood failed on my Fluval 9 gal. tank and could not get satisfaction for a replacement, I was all set to purchase a rectangle tank that had after-market replacement covers instead of buying another kit just to get the hood/light for my Fluval when I came across the Aqueon Clip-on LED lighting system. I made modification to my hood and together with the new Clip-On LED light I have an operating aquarium which my fish enjoy as well as me without being $$$ to get a replacement for my tank. Aqueon, thanks for this product.

I have ordered many different aquarium led lights for my 10g rimless tank for my betta. I like the nano-type look so clip-on was my preferred option, plus I don’t like the look of the longer bar lights. No dimming or timing feature, blue and white leds for daytime, blue Moonlight leds for nighttime. My betta fish doesn’t like red LEDs, he turns into a flaring machine! I also prefer the color of blue/white in my tank. So this fit the bill. My tank is fully planted, grows plants like crazy! Paired with a $10 timer/dimmer and it’s amazing.

I really do like this light. However, I do feel that it is too bright. I have it on a timer so it stays on the same amount of time as my previous light. I’ve never had an algae problem until now. Too much light. I have the smallest one on a 5 gallon tank.

This is a nice, sturdy aquarium light. Handy touch sensor lets you easily switch from white lights to blue lights. The ONLY thing I have noticed is that it significantly heats up my aquarium (I have a 3 gallon cube shaped aquarium-glass). I am trying to figure out how to work with this as throughout the day/evening while I'm running the white lights my tank's temperature will increase by 3 to 4 degrees. I imagine on larger tanks that this wouldn't be an issue. Great light overall just be aware it can increase your water temperature if you have a smaller tank.
